You might have read my previous post about the time I reviewed for the CPA Board Exams…
Let me tell you something, about how I passed the CPA Board Exams. I studied real hard for it! I burned the night oil, so to speak. I didn’t rely 100% on the review materials. I took matters into my own hands for some subjects I had doubt about. Like Practical Accounting 1 and 2, Auditing Theory, Taxation, Auditing Practice. I went back to basics. I studied all the basics once again. I phased all subjects and made sure I took advantage of the time my mind was acting like a sponge.
The aforementioned are just some of the tips to pass the CPA board exams based on my experience…
Another tip to pass the CPA board exams is go to sleep when you feel sleepy. Do not deprive your brain of enough rest. Yes, I did sleep almost 4-5 hours daily then. Sometimes even less. But when the days that my mind was tired and my body was craving for rest, I succumbed to it. I didn’t think of it as slacking off.
Another tip: do not panic! Did you know that at least 5 persons from my batch of reviewees suffered from anxiety attacks?
Always remember this… when you know that you have already given your best, studied triply hard, prayed harder, throw away the worries. Relax and think positive. This too shall pass. Remember that.
Do I need to tell you that after 5 grueling months of review, I passed the CPA board exams in October 1999? All my love ones were ecstatic over it!
